Motorola Sholes As XT701 In China

Motorola SholesThere are corroborated indications that Motorola is seriously working hard to release some new mobile device that will be powered by Google’s Android Operating System. One of the devices set for release is the Motorola Sholes Tablet and even though there have been several photos of the device captured earlier, there are now more glaring pictures available to users. However there are strong indications that the device will be released for to the Chinese market as ‘XT701’.

Pictures of the device were leaked on Androlin.net and were straight away followed by comprehensive details on the specifications of the mobile device. Such details include the fact that the device will boast of a 3.7 in touch screen display, It will also have sport FM radio and brandishes a 5 Mega Pixel photo snapper (this is in sharp contrast to the widely spread rumour which showcased the device with a 8 Mega Pixel camera). The device is also said to run under Google’s Android 2.1 Operating System.

There are however no justifications for the rumour that the device will possess a HDM1 port but the fact that the device will be released to the Chinese market is nonetheless accurate. Motorola Sholes Tablet as widely called will be named XT701 in the Chinese market which hitherto reminds one of China Mobile’s Motorola Android device.

In a related development, it was observed that an unnamed Motorola device has been leaked and its pictures have been spotted. The information about the leak was gotten from BGR which confirmed the rather appealing specs of this device. It is expected to be very fast with its 800MHz processor and 8 Mega Pixel camera.

Motorola Milestone Sim-Free Release Date

Motorola MILESTONEThere is a great likelihood that Motorola Milestone would be released in the UK before the end of the year but would be released in a Sim-Free Version based on the reports gathered from a group of online retailers.

Expansys, usually the first point of call for mobile phone lovers, has already confirmed that the Android 2.0 fully equipped mobile device will be launched on the 7th of December, this year. It was also confirmed that the retailer price for the device will be £449.99 although Sim-free. We also discovered that Clove had been taking pre-orders for this Android device at £424.35 and also scheduled to release the device on the same day.

There is really nothing official to hold on to as Motorola themselves haven’t confirmed the speculation that the Milestone will be debuting in the UK Market. Although the said device had been launched in Germany earlier in the month yet the launch of other monolithic devices launched with O2 and Vodafone also confirms the fact that no one can say with certainty the definite date of launch in the UK market.

It was even discovered that Motorola had gone as far as denying the existence this Android device on their UK site. There are succinct suggestions that Motorola is expecting the launch the device in a big and proper way.

I would seriously expect Motorola to release the device in a big way with lots of freebies for users in connection with mobile operator. There are serious indications that a Sim-free launch is plausible in December while the release with mobile network is expected before the end of the first quarter of next year.

Motorola Milestone Lands in Germany

Motorola MILESTONE 2German Android fans are getting first dibs on Android 2.0 Éclair as Motorola’s DROID finally hits German shores. The phone, now renamed as Milestone provides users with a large capacitive touch screen display with multi touch, a physical keyboard, and the much awaited Android 2.0 Eclair.

When the Motorola DROID was first announced, it was considered as a US-carrier exclusive device and many were disappointed that the DROID would not make it to the UK. Motorola later announced that they would indeed be localizing the device in the UK and are renaming it as the Milestone. The device will be similar to the DROID in many aspects, but with a few slight changes. The first announced and confirmed change is that the touch screen is now multi touch and will respond to pinch commands (among others).

Motorola Milestone is using the new Google Android 2.0 Éclair (which follows the more commonly used version 1.6 Donut). This is the main reason why many Android fans are awaiting this phone, being the first device with the 2.0 Éclair available, the Milestone has been on the spotlight of many reviewers since it was first announced.

The smart phone is out in Germany right now and it is available for 1 Euro on a two year 20 Euro contract. Despite the device not being SIM locked, the locked contract makes that a moot feature. Without Google Maps support in Germany, users are encouraged to try out Motorola’s proprietary MOTONAV app. Vodafone has announced that they will be carrying the Milestone though they have yet to confirm when the device will be launched under their name.

While the device itself has yet to actually be available in the United Kingdom, its arrival in Germany means that it is only a matter of time before everyone gets to try out the Android 2.0 Éclair.

Motorola DEXT

Motorola DEXTThe Motorola DEXT is the new kid on the block, coming from the labs of Motorola. It runs on the Google Android OS, which is enough of a reason for you to buy the DEXT. The user interface used in the phone is the MOTOBLUR user interface.

The MOTOBLUR UI really combines well with the Android OS because you are able to access a number of features which include feeds, contacts, photos, emails, messages, social network and the likes from your homescreen itself with the use of widgets. All the messages that you get from your social network accounts can be set to come into one inbox, thereby making it easy for you to view these messages. Your status can also be updated on the social networks from your home screen itself.

Moving from the social networks, the presence of Android 1.5 ensures that your phone comes with a number of google – related apps. The phone comes in a slider form factor with a touchscreen, which is 3.1 inches in length and has a resolution of 320×480 pixels. The full QWERTY keyboard, located under the screen, is an absolute delight.

The phone comes armed with a 5 megapixel camera which has geo-tagging, auto – focus and picture editing. The camera doesn’t really disappoint, but isn’t exactly top – class.

As far as the physical dimensions are concerned, the phone is fairly slim at 15.6 mm when you consider the fact that it is a slider. However, it is fairly heavy at 163 grams and may feel uncomfortable in your pocket. The phone has support for 3G networks as well as Wi-Fi and EDGE internet. The phone’s music player supports songs in the AAC, MP3, AAC+ and AAC+ Enhanced, MIDI, AMR and WAV songs. The phone has a microUSB 2.0 port as well as a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Motorola DEXT Reviews have been good so far, so make sure you have your cash ready when it arrives in October, when it will be released on many Motorola DEXT contracts.

Motorola ROKR ZN50 to enjoy ultimate music experience

motorola-rokr-zn50-3To start with the qualities and featured added in Motorola ROKR ZN50, there is the 3.2 inches touch screen display and battery powerful enough to let the users listen to tier most liked tracks for about 30 hours with the help of a headphone socket. The complete touch screen and music centric slider phone is featured with screen rotation feature, 3.5 mm headphone jack, SRS WOW HD and Bluetooth stereo headset. There is even the T-DMB TV tuner facility in this Motorola phone with 4GB internal memory option along with the e-dictionary and 7.2 Mbps HSD options.

What is most interesting about this Motorola ROKR ZN50 is that it is the very first Android filled Smartphone slider phone by American company. The design reminds of Nokia XpressMusic series with the red and blue accents. The three panel style of this Motorola mobile phone touts and gives three screens which can be easily flicked between as well as filled up using different shortcuts and icons.

There are even the tweak able EQ options with the microSD slot card to extend the memory to about 16 GB memory. The phone has dimensions of 108.9 x 54 x 14.34 mm and is available with the 950 mAh battery. The HSDPA enabled phone for high speed Internet surfing is an added advantage with this phone. Motorola ROKR ZN50-The ideal media companion!

motorola-rokr-zn50-3The Motorola ROKR ZN50 is one of the new slider phones to hit the market later this year. Being 3G capable, you will be able to access a wide range of data networks using the phone. Weighing in at 143g, it is one of the heavier phones to be released in the mid price range. This is quite a disadvantage as it is too heavy to be carried around comfortably in your pocket. Even if you manage to slip the phone in, the unsightly bulge will beg you to take the phone out again! The bulge is because of the thickness of the phone which stands at 14.3mm.

The Motorola ROKR ZN50 uses a TFT resistive touch screen which allows up to 262000 colors to be displayed at a 240 x 427 pixel resolution. This makes the screen decent enough to view your media on. You can expand the internal memory of the Motorola ROKR ZN50 up to 16 GB using the microSD memory card slot. This makes the Motorola ROKR ZN50 the ideal choice to store your media on. The 3.5 mm jack on the side of the phone allows you to use your favorite pair of earphones with the Motorola ROKR ZN50. The Motorola ROKR ZN50 also has a built in equalizer and well as SRS WOW HD technology. Viewing media on the screen is a feast for the eyes as the resolution of the screen is really good.

The connective options of the Motorola ROKR ZN50 are pretty good with HSDPA allowing data transfer speeds up to 7.2 Mbps, GPRS with data transfer speeds up to 48 kbps and class 10 EDGE. Short range data transfer is easy using the USB port on the side of the phone. You can even use the Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP to transfer data across a short distance.

Motorola ROKR ZN50. Be gone, evil blogging types!

The mobile phone world – particularly the sordid world of blogging and reviewing that we skulk around in – is an unforgiving place. And one things the denizens of said seedy world do very, very well indeed, is kick people when they’re down. This is most likely because bloggers and other online types are mostly feeble bodied things who grasp at every chance they have to act hard, rare as those chances are.

Which is why people have really been going to town on Motorola recently, ailing as the company is. With a full year of losses on the cards, the company hasn’t been doing itself any favours by releasing, for the most part, pretty shoddy phones of late. That’s not to say they’re all terrible though, as this line-up of Motorola phones shows. However, with the Motorola ROKR ZN50, they’ve done themselves proud and stuffed a sock in the mouths of all those grumbling violent nerds. It’s not a fantastic phone, by any stretch of the imagination – 3.2MP camera, slightly weak battery – but the Motorola ZN50 is a damn sight better than most of the handsets they’ve been releasing recently. And just look at it, it’s a bit of a stunner. Slightly chunky, perhaps (full specs can be found in this Motorola ZN50 review), but by and large a tasty little number. So keep your eyes peeled for any future news about a UK release (its Korea-only at the moment, but we’re sure that’ll change if it does well over there)

Don’t want to take our word for it? Then have a look at this hilariously shoddy video instead. Mmm, tasty tasty
